Brief Biography

Doug is the owner of Montclair Risk Advisors, Inc., an independent property/casualty and health insurance and risk management consulting firm. In over 25 years of public practice he has advised just about every kind of business, institution, healthcare provider and public service organization.

Before launching his own firm in 1997, Doug was a Principal and the leader of Ernst & Young's risk management consulting practice. He held a similar position with Price Waterhouse Coopers. He also has been a corporate risk manager, an insurance broker and an underwriter of alternative risk financing products.

Articles written by Doug have appeared in Risk & Insurance, the National Underwriter, Cash Flow magazine and Ernst & Young's Insurance Executive Report. He served as a director of the Self-Insurance Institute of America and as a chapter president of the Risk and Insurance Management Society. 

He has an MBA in Finance from Michigan State University and a BA from Calvin College. He earned the Associate in Risk Management ("ARM") designation from the Insurance Institute of America.

Doug is a licensed Insurance Producer (property/casualty and health insurance) in New Jersey. He also has non-resident licenses in other states.
